Photo Mary Beth TownsendMy name is Mary Beth Townsend. I live in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have been teaching high school since 1994. I started teaching at Henry Sibley in 1999.  I teach geography and world history.

Before working at Sibley, I taught at a K-12 school in Upstate New York and at Hubert Humphrey Job Corps in St. Paul. There, I taught writing and GED. I also worked with a small group from the US Air Force on testing their design of educational software for math and science. This experience instilled a love of educational technology that has stayed with me and inspired me to pursue my doctorate.

I received my bachelor’s degree in social studies and history at the State University of New York (SUNY) Cortland  in 1993 and my M.S. in Literacy and Learning in the Content Areas through Walden University in 2006. I completed my Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership with a Specialization in Educational Technology through the University of Phoenix in March 2017.
