Congratulations to the Henry Sibley Class of 2016!

As the 2015-16 school year comes to a close, School District 197 would like to present the "Sibley Senior Spotlights" — interviews with seniors who have shown commitment to academic excellence and personal achievement. Students share stories about their favorite memory from their time at Sibley, a teacher who helped encourage them, advice for younger students about high school, and more!

Emma Verby
Emma Verby – Whether through her lifelong desire to become a nurse or her multitude of volunteer activities, Emma Verby has demonstrated a commitment to helping those around her. Active in athletics and activities, Emma will transition from a student leader in high school to one in college when she enrolls at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, S.D. next fall. Read more.

Jose Figueroa Castro
 Jose Figueroa Castro – Throughout his time at Henry Sibley High School, Jose Figueroa has sought out the challenge of rigorous courses. As a result of his persistence in the classroom, he continues to move closer to his dream of becoming a United States Senator. Read more.
Angelina Contreras
Angelina Contreras – With the encouragement of one of her teachers, Angelina Contreras applied and was one of 10 students accepted to attend the Mayo Clinic’s ICAN Program in the summer of 2015. That experience, combined with her time at Henry Sibley High School, will lead Angelina to pursue a degree in neuroscience when she enrolls at the University of Minnesota next fall. Read more.


Andy Nguyen

Andy Nguyen – For Andy Nguyen, the key to success in high school is finding what you are passionate about and dedicating yourself to those activities. Through the pursuit of his own passions, Andy will graduate from Henry Sibley as a decorated musician, athlete and student. Read more.

Max Buell

Max Buell – By blending lessons learned in athletics and his academics, Max Buell has been able to amass awards in both areas during his time at Henry Sibley High School. He will look to continue to excel both in and out of the classroom when he begins his pursuit of an engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin in the fall. Read more.

Serina Vue
Serina Vue – As both a singer and an actress, Serina Vue has found friendship and great success while performing on the Henry Sibley High School stage. Serina intends to enroll at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. next fall, where she hopes to continue singing and acting while pursuing a degree outside of the performing arts. Read more.
Masbal Abdullahi

Masbal Abdullahi – Since her first day at Henry Sibley High School, Masbal Abdullahi has been guided by two principles: work hard and help others. As she prepares for graduation from Henry Sibley and enrollment at St. Catherine University, those two principles remain as important to her as ever. Read more.

Kallman Parry

Kallman Parry – By combining his passion for service with the leadership opportunities available to students at Henry Sibley High School, Kallman Parry has prepared himself to achieve his ultimate goal – being accepted to attend the United States Naval Academy. Read more.

Tracy Magooba
Tracy Magooba – Tracy Magooba looks back fondly on the bonds she has formed with fellow students and staff at Henry Sibley High School. Now with graduation fast approaching, Tracy is shifting her sights to the College of St. Benedict where she hopes to form the same great relationships when she enrolls in the fall. Read more.


Joe Quehl

Joe Quehl – An avid outdoorsman, Joe Quehl has spent his time outside of school finding ways to interact with the world around him. In the classroom, meanwhile, Joe has excelled in rigorous courses and prepared himself for enrollment in the Wildlife Ecology program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Read more.
